Bio: Coach Victor Jensen
Coach Jensen began playing water polo over 17 years ago at Club Paulistano in Sao Paulo, Brazil. When he was 14 he began
playing in the first division of the club level and started playing
at the national level in Brazil. He spent his sophomore year
of high school studying and playing on the varsity water polo team
at Leland High School in San Jose, California. Subsequently, he
returned to Brazil and continued playing at the collegiate and
national level throughout his college career. While playing for the Universidade Paulista, the team won the Brazilian college title two
times. After graduating he began coaching club water polo in Brazil.
In December of 2003, Coach Jensen moved to San Diego. Since that
time he has been coaching at clubs and high schools in San Diego. He
has coached both boys and girls water polo.
Coach Jensen is excited to join the Scripps Ranch community as head
coach for the men’s varsity team of Scripps Ranch High School and
coach of the Scripps Ranch Water Polo Club. It is his hope that he
can help the players to better understand the game, improve their
conditioning and skills, and to learn to play better together as a
team. Building from his international playing experience, Coach
Jensen wants to teach the players to have a different view of the
game and learn to remain calm and composed under pressure. He will
stress dedication, hard work, and a positive attitude. Coach Jensen
hopes that the skills that he teaches will go beyond the pool and
will carry over into the everyday lives of his players.
Coach Jensen became the Pacific Southwest (PSW) Zones coach for the 18 and 16 and under girls water polo.
